Video released in incident over cancer survivor asked to cover face in SC store

Cancer survivor Kirby Evans. (WCIV)

Surveillance video from inside the Forks Pit Stop convenience store in Walterboro shows the manager privately speaking in the office to a cancer survivor who lost his nose and an eye to the disease.

The manager had asked the man, Kirby Evans, to cover his face because he was running off customers.

Evans, 65, reported that the female manager grabbed him and pulled him into the office, however the video does not show her touching him.

The incident was first reported by Evans" daughter on social media and gained attention and outrage after Evans said he left the store in tears after the conversation with the manager.

The manager responded to criticism on social media, stating that she did nothing wrong, that she asked him to cover his face and she was looking out for diners.
